Andrew Lunt Managing Director- Unilabs UK

Following successful careers in the retail and hospitality sectors, Mr Lunt moved in to healthcare in 2002, joining Nuffield Health.  He held a number of operational positions (Hospital General Manager and Regional Director) before taking on Corporate support roles, first as Group Human Resources Director then as Group Business Services Director (responsible for IT, Property, Procurement, Shared Services and Decontamination Services).  Latterly he was CEO of Nuffield Health's Diagnostics Division.

Mr Lunt left Nuffield Health in 2009 and worked as an independent consultant in the UK instrument decontamination sector.

Marisa Logan-Ward, Commercial Director, Unilabs UK

For almost 15 years Marisa Logan-Ward has played a variety of key roles in the UK health service modernisation agenda.  With experience of both public and private sector healthcare enterprises Marisa has expertise in commercial strategy, operational delivery and has a specialist interest in laboratory medicine. 

Before joining Unilabs UK, Marisa ran a successful management consultancy practice in diagnostics and scientific services. Her clients; included several large University Teaching Hospitals; GSTS Pathology, Serco Group and Gulf Healthcare International. 

From 2006-2009 Marisa was Group Pathology Director at BMI Healthcare where she led the strategic and operational development of laboratory services across 60 acute private hospitals.  Under her leadership the business unit delivered an impressive commercial profile generating revenues of over >£100M.

She has held pivotal roles within the Department of Health and has supported National Clinical Leaders and the Chief Scientific Officer on a number of initiatives including workforce development, medical training, laboratory design and the NHS National Programme for IT.   As Assistant Chief Scientific Advisor at NHS Estates she operated in a multidisciplinary environment to provide scientific and clinical advice to the design & construction industry. 

Marisa has also held the post of Programme Director in one of the largest regional health authorities where she led the implementation of diagnostics reform to a population of 3.2 million in order to achieve government targets on waiting times.

She holds a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences from Manchester Metropolitan University and a PhD, Molecular Immunology from the University of Bath.

Jason Biggs IT Director, Unilabs UK

Jason Biggs serves as IT Director for Unilabs in the UK, a role that is responsible for all Information Technology and Information Governance matters.  Jason brings his in-depth experience, technical skills and management capabilities to his current position.

Jason has been working within Information technology for well over 18 years. Before joining Unilabs he has held a number of IT leadership positions as Head of ICT, Group Head of IT Operations and IT Support Manager.  Jason's professional experience includes the Health, Manufacturing, Biotechnology, and Professional Services sectors.

Born and educated in Cambridge, Jason holds a B.Sc, and two Diplomas' in Computing.

Twenty years experience in Finance and Commerce within Logistics, IT and Healthcare industries.

Neil Barrett, Operations Manager, Unilabs UK

An effective leader and people manager with experience in operating and developing medical laboratory services within the independent healthcare sector. Highly committed to working in a pressurised environment in order to adhere to tight deadlines and deliver a high level of customer care. Highly experienced in pathology accreditation. Professionally trained as a Biomedical Scientist specialising in cellular pathology, although gained knowledge of the other disciplines within pathology. Over thirty years working in healthcare and laboratories (twenty five in the private sector), with six years in a senior management role.
