RESULTS AND IMAGING: E.T.I. (Electronic Transfer of Information) - CPA Standard G2.5
IHS is now able to provide secure electronic transfer of pathology reports after authorisation to clients if required. This is currently available in two different formats:
- Via a dedicated BT data network connection between IHS and the client's laboratory information system (L.I.S.) to allow for secure transfer of data.
- Via the internet from IHS to the client's L.I.S. using 128-bit encryption software for secure transfer of data.
E.T.I. is another of IHS' I.T. initiatives to keep it at the forefront of private sector pathology. The service is being introduced as a way of significantly reducing turnaround time for reporting of samples, allowing results to be accessed by clients within a matter of minutes after authorisation by a pathologist rather than the traditional methods of transfer by post or FAX which can take up to 24 hours.
More information on these E.T.I. options is available on request by contacting IHS' Information Systems Administrator David Ferris on 0207 299 4490 or by email @: david.ferris@unilabs.com
